SEE how the mounting sun
ONCE more, my soul, the rising day
GREAT God, to thee my ev'ning song
NOW from the altar of our hearts
HOSANNA, with a cheerful sound,
WELCOME sweet day of rest
FREQUENT the day of GOd returns
HOW beauteous are their feet,
GREAT Father of mankind
IN sweet exalted strains
SHEPHERD of Israel, thou dost keep
TO thy great name, O Prince of peace,
GREAT God, the nations of the earth
LOOK down, O God, with pitying eye,
WHILE o'er our guilty land, O Lord,
WAR, horrid war, deep stain'd in blood,
SEE, gracious Lord, before thy throne,

NOW let our hearts conspire to raise
DEATH! 'tis a melancholy day
DEATH cannot make our souls afraid,
STOOP down, my thoughts that use to rise,
WHEN death appears before my sight
ALAS! how chang'd that lovely flow'r,
YE mourning saints, whose streaming tears
PEACE, 'tis the Lord Jehovah's hand
DEATH may dissolve my body now
HARK! from the tombs a doleful sound;
HEAR what the voice from heav'n declares
THE moment a sinner believes
O FOR a closer walk with God,
JESUS, our soul's delightful choice,
I PRAYED the Lord, that I might grow
WHO shall the Lord's elect condemn?
IN God the Father I believe,
WHEN Hannah press'd with grief,
WHEN we are rais'd from deep distress,
OUR souls shall magnify the Lord;
NOW, be the God of Israel bless'd,
BEHOLD! the grace appears,
LORD, in thy temple we appear,
AWAKE, and sing the song
BEHOLD the saints, belov'd of God!
LO! he comes with clouds descending,
