Sons of Robert Livington

If there is one thing to remember about Livingstons, other than their great influence on New York's political world, it's probably that there was never a cousin that a Livingston didn't look at with longing. This family intermarries so much that it's hard to keep the lines straight, a situation not helped by the very few names they gave their children - the most extreme of those being the name-challenged Livingston Livingston!

All three branches of the Livingston sons - Robert, Philip and Gilbert - intermarried. Gilbert's wife's brother married into the Robert Jr. branch, and Gilbert's grandson married back into the Philip branch.
