Will Be the Guests of the Frisco and of The Springfield Club
TO "OPEN-UP" THE OZARKS
Directors and officers of the American Angora Goat Breeders Association will be the guests of the Frisco railroad company from
seven until ten o'clock on Saturday morning.
The party which is to be here just closed their third annual convention at Kansas City where there were 2,000 goats on exhibition and
over 700 registered animals at the live stock show.
While in Springfield the guests will be entertained by the Frisco officials. A breakfast will be given by the Springfield club and a trolley
ride through the city will show the visitors the Queen City of the Ozarks.
A representative of general manager A. B. Hulit of the association was in Springfield yesterday. In reference to the Angora Goats association, he said:
"it is the intention of the Frisco Live Stock company to open up the Ozarks for the purpose of raising goats. The government reports show that
the Ozarks are the finest, natural goat lands that there are in the United Staates and that the goats increase the value of the lands 500 per cent. So it
is the purpose of this company to purchase ranches in the Ozark region from which the entire section can get goats at the very best prices,
the company enjoying tyhe exceptional opportunites for gathering these animals in such quantities as to place them at the best possible
advantage to the purchaser."
The men interested in the movement are Zach Mulhall, Isaac H. Orr, S. A. Hughes, A. B. Hulit, ... H. Godair, R. B. Hart, W. T. M'Intire and H. C. Cantwell.
