'LORD OF DISHONOR' INSIDER NEWS

You'd think it would be easy. I had a wonderful hero, a super heroine, and a great plot line. But no. There was research to do. Because our hero has unusual eyes. One is blue, the other gray. And the plot hinges on how he got them.

I didn't know if anyone else would care exactly how the laws of inheritance work in this case, but I did. I went to the medical books. Then to a medical library and the journals. The condition is called: Heterochromia.

It may occur as an isolated autosomal dominant trait. There. I had to make sure the fiction had a firm root in reality. It did. THEN I could go on with the book.

Oh, Lord of Dishonor won an award from ROMANTIC TIMES for Best Regency Novel that year. Too bad there wasn't one for best research too. But that would have been greedy.
