Nevada State Journal - June 16, 1941 - Page 8

Funeral Services Set for Tuesday

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning for Mrs. Lola F. Bell, who died Saturday night at a local hospital. Mrs. Bell, 61, was the wife of Jack Bell of Verdi and was for many years Reno correspondent for the New York Daily News.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held tonight at 7:30 at the O'Brien-Rogers chapel. Friends are invited to attend the funeral services Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. at the O'Briend-Rogers chapel, thence to Our Lady of the Snows church where a high requiem mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. by Fahter John J. Ryan.

Mrs. Bell was taken ill about three weeks ago, and two weeks ago was taken to the hospital for treatment. After a sinking spell there were indications she might recover, but a relapse occurred last Wednesday night. Thomas A. Connell of New York, her son, arrived here the first of the week and was with his mother at her death.

At a later date Mr. Connell will return to New York with the remains, and burial will take place in the family plot in New York City.

Mrs. Bell was born in New York City and had followed newspaper work most of her adult life. For many years she was a correspondent in Paris for the New York Herald. She came to Nevada about 15 years ago, and had represented the Daily News all of that time.
