As seen earlier in Anne Grant's description of Catalina's partiality to the "high-souled and generous" Mohawks, the Schuyler family was particularly known for their respect for Native Americans. It was Peter Schuyler, Madame Schuyler's father-in-law, who took the Indian chiefs to London to meet the British King.
