I sulked when one of my favorite regency reviewers didn't give me a glowing
review for this one. Oh, she liked it. But she didn't love it, and I did.
It had a real ghost or two, a complex hero, and a truly beset heroine. I
thought it was a great story.
When I met the reviewer at a conference, she mentioned the book to me.
(Maybe she saw the hurt in my spaniel-like eyes?) She liked the book, she
said, but deliberately didn't give it her highest rating because she thought
I'd pushed the envelope a bit too far. It was a good book, she said, it's
just that it wasn't really a Regency anymore.
What do you think?
As for me, I guess I agreed. It was time to move on.
LADY OF SPIRIT was my last regency.
