Edith Layton's Pecan Pie

1cupsugar
4.eggs
1teaspoonvanilla
1 1/4cupsdark corn syrup
1/4cupbutter
1 1/2cupspecans
19"unbaked pie shell

Boil sugar and corn syrup in saucepan. Beat eggs, not too stiff. Slowly pour in hot syrup, stirring as you do it. Stir in butter, vanilla and pecans.

Turn into pie shell.

Bake in 350 degree oven or until set, and wait for friends and neighbors to beg.
