Soak beans overnight, throw liquid away.
Saute onions in butter. Press garlic clove into pan. Add to beans and fresh water, little more than covering beans. Boil together, adding water when too dry for 4-6 hours. About one hour before finished, add tomatoes, tomato paste and spices, tasting for flavor. Fry hamburger and drain off grease. Add to chili and stir. |
