PSALM 72. First Part. L.M.
The kingdom of Christ. (cont.)

  5 Revive at his first dawning light,
And deserts blossom at the sight.
  6 The saints shall flourish in his days,
Drest in the robes of joy and praise:
Peace, like a river, from his throne,
Shall flow to nations yet unknown.

PSALM 72. Second Part. L.M.
The kingdom of Christ among the Gentiles.

  1 JESUS shall reign where'er the sun
Does his successive journies run;
His kingdom stretch from shore to shore,
'Till moons shall wax and wane no more.
  2 For him shall endless pray'r be made,
And praises circle round his head:
His name, like sweet perfume, shall rise
With ev'ry morning sacrifice.
  3 People and realms of ev'ry tongue
Dwell on his love with sweetest song;
And infant voices shall proclaim
Their early blessings on his name.
  4 Blessings abound where'er he reigns,
The pris'ner leaps to lose his chains;
The weary find eternal rest,
And all the sons of want are blest.
  5 Where he displays his healing pow'r,
Death and the curse are known no more:
In him the tribes of Adam boast
More blessings, than their father lost.
  6 Let ev'ry creature rise and bring,
Peculiar honours to our King:
Angels descend with songs again,
And earth repeat the loud Amen,

PSALM 72. Third Part. C.M.
The glory of Christ.

  1 THE mem'ry of Clirist's glorious name
   Thro' endless years shall run;
His spotless fame shall shine as bright
   And lasting as the sun.
  2 In him the nations of the world
   Shall be completely blest;
And his imputed righteousness
   By ev'ry tongue confess'd.
  3 Then bless'd be God, the mighty Lord,
   The God whom Israel fears;
Who only wond'rous in his works,
   Beyond compare appears.
  4 Let earth be with his glory fill'd;
   For ever bless his name;
Whilst to his praise, the list'ning world
   Their glad assent proclaim.

PSALM 73. First Part. S.M.
The mystery of Providence unfolded.

  1 SURE there's a righteous God,
   Nor is religion vain:
Tho' men of vice may boast aloud,
   And men of grace complain.
  2 I saw the wicked rise,
   And felt my heart repine;
While haughty fools with scornful ease,
   In robes of honour shine.
  3 Pamper'd with wanton ease,
   Their flesh looks full and fair;
Their wealth rolls in like flowing seas,
   And grows without their care.
  4 Free from the plagues and pains,
   That pious souls endure;
