he wounds and he heals;
neither is there any that can deliver out of his hand;
he makes peace and he creates evil.
The Lord doth all these things.
Be still then, and know that he is God.
Turn to him that smiteth you.
1 Peter 5:6
Hear the rod and who hath appointed it.
Despise not the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him;
for whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth;
cast then thy burden upon the Lord, and he will sustain thee.
He knoweth the way that you take; and when he hath tried you, you shall come forth as gold.
What he doeth you know not now, but you shall know it hereafter.
God is a very present help in trouble.
Pour out your hearts before him,
for though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
He healeth the
broken in heart,
and will regard the prayer of the destitute.
No chastening for the present is joyous, but grievous; nevertheeless afterward it yieldeth the
peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby;
and all things work together for good to them that love God, to them
who are the called according to his purpose.
Contend not then with him who is mightier than thou;
and think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which tries you,
as though some strange thing happened to you;
1 Peter 4:12
for his judgments ae right, and in faithfulness he hath afflicted you.
Submit yourselves therefore to God.
Draw nigh to him, and he will draw nigh unto you.
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
Wherefore, glorify ye the Lord in the fires.
