at ease and quiet; and others in the bitterness of their souls.
Young men are cut off from the street.
Children are far from safety; they are crushed in the gate, neither is there any to deliver.
Infants are dashed in pieces.
The mighty are exalted for a little while, but are gone and brought low; they are taken out of the way as all others.
Wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish perish, and leave their wealth to others.
One event happeneth to them all. As the one dieth, so dieth the other.
They have all one breath; all go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
Few and evil are the days of the years of our lives.
We are born into trouble as the sparks fly upward.
Our days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle;
they flee away, they see no good.
We all do fade as a leaf,
and shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
For here we have no continuing city, but we seek one to come.
The voice said cry, and he said, what shall I cry?
all flesh is grass, and the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field.
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth, but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
SIN is the transgression of the law,
1 John 3:4
and the wages of sin is death.
The body is dead because of sin,
and the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
God is able to destroy both soul and body in hell;
and he will punish the wicked for their iniquity.
The destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the Lord shall be consumed.
The wicked shall perish.
By one man's disobedience
sin entered into the world
and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
