What do awards mean? That varies by the award. Some of them are thoughtful recognition of a job well done. Some are a guarantee of a certain minimal level of decency and utility. And some are really reciprocal links. But do you know what I really love about awards? I love their beauty. Some heavy effort has gone into the design of many of these awards and they represent a visual basket of art. Exquisite flowers, glowing frames, gilt letters. Beauty enough to roll in. And isn't it reasonable to assume that a site that has the good taste to create such a lovely award has, in itself, a quality that makes it a must-see site? Then, too, think of the souls of people who have looked for and found a way to give to strangers. Certainly their sites deserve a few clicks of our time. So join me in a ramble through flowers and trees and morning bursts of golden light and maybe take the opportunity to jump through a picture into yet another playground for Alice and her friends.
