Lucille Mulhall Replaces Branding with Ear Tagging
The Racine Daily Journal, 2 Apr 1906

Lucille Mulhall, the famous rough rider and steer roper, has a ranch at Mulhall, Okla. She has abolished the barbarous custom of branding her cattle, and instead has a tin tag attached to their ears. Another famous farmer girl is Georgia Burns, owner and manager of the Arrow Heart cattle ranch, also in Oklahoma. Her estate contains 11,000 acres, besides which she controls 100,000 thousands acres of oil and mineral lands in Indian Territory. Miss Burns began her business enterprises by pre-empting a claim of a hundred acres in Oklahoma when she was eighteen years old.
