Jess Martin and Joe Butler, charged with being intoxicated in a public place, entered pleas of guilty in the justice of
peace court this morning when arraigned before Judge W. L. Woodbury.
On the recommendation of Joe Howard, county attorney, Martin was fined $50 and costs while Butler was assessed $100 and costs.
Both were members of the party in a Lincoln sedan which ploughed into a truck three miles east of Perry Sunday night when
the Lincoln car was almost completely demolished and the truck badly damaged. Martin was slightly injured when he was
cut about the face and body but is slowly improving.
Margaret Mulhall, the woman in the party, and Horton Homerathy, owner of the car, have been released under $1,000 bond with their
preliminary hearing set for 10 o'clock on July 7. Both were arraigned before E. W. Jones, county judge, late
Monday afternoon on charges of driving an automobile while being intoxicated.
