MULHALL Okla., Sept. 21. -(UP)-
The body of Col. Zack Mulhall rested today in the family vault on the ranch the pioneer plainsman homesteaded when Indian Territory
was opened to settlement about 40 years ago.
Four thousand persons attended the simple Catholic funeral services held Sunday at the ranch home for the 84-year-old pioneer.
He died Friday after a long illness that started when his wife died last January.
Father Van Mens compared Colonel Mulhall's life to that of Thomas Edison. The colonel reached perfection in physical pursuits while
the scientist has attained perfection in the menal pursuits, Father Van Mens said.
"Both are responsible for the advancement of civilization."
Will Rogers and Tom Mix, screen celebrities, who were started on the road to fame by Colonel Mulhall in his Wild West show, were unable
to attend but sent messages of condolence.
