Lucille Mulhall intends to make bail for Fair Garner
Coffeyville Daily Journal, 11 Jan 1923

Lucille Mulhall, once proclaimed the one and only champion cowgirl of the world, who roped steers before King Edward VII and mastered western broncs in fornt of the Czars and little Czars of old Russia, has come to the relief of at least one of the four men in the county jail at Bartlesville charged with rape in connection with Ramona's scandal of Christmas eve. Lucille dashed up to the Washington county court house announced that she intended to make bond for Fair Garner, one of the four men held on a rape charge. According to the jailer, Lucille talked with Garner, Merle Wrone, John Popoejoy and Joe Tally for a considerable length of time. She said she had known some of them before. Just when she will start proceedings to procure bond for Garner was not related. Lucille left Oklahoma City Tuesday night, she said, where her father, Zack Mulhall, had charge of the street parade and much of the barbecue program for GOvernor J. C. Walton. She was riding in a Hudson touring car and intended to reach Mulhall, her home, late last night.
