The Whistle

Weep, O weep for Suskind
And the wonder that was hers.
For who could help but love the Queen
Save blood of Orianders?
Suskind! The pagan Queen of old--
Of the hidden children, Queen!
The glory of the ancient days
In man's own vision seen.
Aye - we must weep for Suskind
As man has ever wept
For all the wonder of the dreams
That tore him as he slept--
Mourn - and raise a dirge for Suskind
Our love that can't be kept.
